Guy who keeps winning Autoslalom runs a stock D15... Power aint everything. Im putting on front and rear strut tower bracing and a c tower bar on sunday. I also Have a set of Skunk 2 sports suspension with 2.5 inch lowering springs to put on after winter. I have a stock exhaust and an si header to put on on too. I'll be getting EBC sports pads and some decent rotors, racing brake fluid, heat wrap, and some high performance oil before the season starts. I also have to fab up an extension to get that air filter further from the engine and more in to the bumper and I'm lifting the back of the hood to allow better cooling. Then all I'll need is some fat tires for those BMW rims and I'll be pretty much set. The Car will be used mainly for auto slalom. I will be taking a lapping school so I can take it on the local race track, but just to practice, not to race.
Also the only engine mods I put on were a new air filter, NGK plugs, NTK sensors, and the header because my cayt (which header replaces) was clogged up. A new cayt and a header are about the same price so I went for the little bit of extra performance over a stupid coffee can under my hood. Engine swaps are money pits and a cheap teg engine in my price range would be so un-reliable. I'm going to save up and build my car the right way when the time is right. "If it aint' broke don't fix it"
It's not pointless. I Auto Slalom this car and I will be tracking it next year(after some brake and suspension modification). It's my first car and I've only had it for a year. I don't have a garage or another car and I don't have a rich family or a good enough job to be able to pay for a "done to f*ck honda" and my education at age 19. I also don't believe I've earned the right to be able to put that kind of power under my hood. I have to prove to myself that I can handle it and take a mostly stock D16y7 to it's full potential, before I start packing on tonnes of horse power, so I don't kill myself with it. Your stupid street opinions don't mean shit. I'm sick of all you nobodys thinking you have the right to judge me and my car. The "legit" racing community respects my car. I'll take the Targa rally drivers, experienced Solo Sport drivers and race team owners advice over yours. You should just be happy that I do every thing I can to take care of this vehicle and that I put my heart, blood and soul into it to make it mine. Its not just a "honda civic" its a part of who I am.
Why would I care? And that's a full 2.5" racing exhaust ass hole. NGK is what a Honda needs...all their wires are blue (that I can find) and the intake... whats wrong with an intake? If your D series bogs maybe you should change the plugs to NGK. That or get a lighter girl friend. Fat chicks are no good for Hondas bro.
